This narrative review explains what low-value care (healthcare that costs more than the benefit it provides) and no-value care (care with no clinical benefit) are, explores the main causes behind these unnecessary services, and discusses strategies to reduce their use. It highlights that such care contributes significantly to wasted healthcare resources and presents potential policy and clinical approaches to improve care quality by reducing waste.
