This study examined telehealth use in Virginia during and after the COVID-19 pandemic and found that telehealth adoption increased dramatically, particularly in rural areas. However, disparities persisted, with lower telehealth use among some minority populations, older adults, and communities with limited broadband access. The authors conclude that expanding internet infrastructure and improving telehealth literacy are important strategies for ensuring equitable access to healthcare services.
