In 2011, the Montana legislature passed HB0573 authorizing the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Securities and Insurance to the ability to conduct a feasibility study into the creation of a statewide APCD, creating an advisory council and establishing reporting requirements. The bill was terminated on December 31, 2012. The 64th Legislature introduced HB620 in 2016 to create an APCD, but it died in committee.
