Econometrica/Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)

The APCD Council has contracted with Econometrica through December 2010 with funding from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to support work on Standards. This funding allowed the APCD Council to convene a technical advisory panel (or TAP) to vet and recommend standard data elements for state APCDs.

APCD Council Technical Advisory Panel

As requested by our APCD Council Technical Advisory Panel*, the code sets for non-X12 data elements are presented in the following spreadsheets for both eligibility and medical files.

For X-12 data elements, please consult the X-12 implementation guides (available: http://store.x12.org/) for the most current information about the code sets.

  • If your organization would like to propose changes to the non-X12 data elements, the APCD Council is willing to provide a forum to discuss the proposed changes with other states.
  • If your organization would like to propose a change to an X-12 data element (270, 271, 835, 837), please contact X-12 (www.x12.org) to initiate the appropriate change request through the ANSI-based X-12 process.

*APCD Council Technical Advisory Panel includes participants from the following organizations: Aetna, AHIP, AHRQ, ASPE, Cigna, CMS, NAHDO, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, Humana, Kaiser Permanante, Medco, NCSL, NCVHS, NGA, United and the University of New Hampshire
